Permit Coordinator
Permit Coordinator – Juno Beach, FL
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Permit Coordinator to join their Engineering & Construction team in Juno Beach, Florida. This is a 12-month contract opportunity where you will play a key part in ensuring that construction and field operations meet all prevailing wage and regulatory requirements. You will manage day-to-day compliance workflows, coordinate with external consultants, and maintain the documentation and reporting systems that keep projects moving forward safely and on schedule.
In this role you will act as the operational backbone for compliance activities—tracking permit-related documentation, reviewing reports from engineering and construction partners, and driving remediation when gaps are identified. If you thrive in a structured, audit-driven environment and enjoy bringing order to complex processes, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily compliance operations and coordinate consultant workflows to ensure timely permit processing and adherence to prevailing wage requirements.
- Review monitoring reports, identify non-compliance trends, and track remediation activities through to resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation, standard operating procedures, and compliance records in line with regulatory and internal standards.
- Execute and track Notice of Award/Proceed (NAP) workflows, ensuring all contractual and permit conditions are met before work begins.
- Own compliance dashboards and reporting tools, providing clear visibility into permit status, audit findings, and key performance indicators.
- Serve as a point of contact for vendors and consultants, clarifying requirements and driving consistent, high-quality deliverables.
- Support field teams by preparing permit packages, coordinating submittals, and resolving administrative roadblocks.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in project coordination, operations support, or administrative project consulting, ideally within construction, engineering, or a regulated industry.
- Demonstrated background in construction compliance, field auditing, or permit coordination.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous documentation practices; comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Proficiency with compliance tracking tools and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and dashboard maintenance).
- Working knowledge of wage determinations, prevailing wage laws, and field practices related to construction permits.
- Experience managing vendors or external consultants, including setting expectations and reviewing deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, human resources, construction management, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet our client's driving record standards, as some local travel may be required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting regulated, audit-driven, or compliance-oriented programs.
- Familiarity with utility-scale construction projects or energy sector permitting.
- Exposure to time-and-expense tracking systems and weekly reporting cycles.
