About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Hybrid Infrastructure Administrator to manage, maintain, and modernize enterprise infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in traditional systems administration—servers, virtualization, networking, storage, Active Directory, and firewall management—alongside hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS.
This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of enterprise infrastructure supporting critical business operations. You will design, implement, and support hybrid solutions that integrate on-premises systems with cloud services, with strong emphasis on VMware, infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), vendor management, and project delivery.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills who can support operational requirements while driving infrastructure modernization initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premises server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, to keep critical systems available and performing.
- Manage and configure network components and firewall rules to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and a secure network environment.
- Monitor system health and perform server operating system upgrades and vendor patching to maintain high availability of critical resources.
- Collaborate with the IT team to design, implement, and maintain virtualized environments using VMware.
- Administer and support hybrid cloud environments across AWS, GCP, and Azure, including cloud networking, security controls, and monitoring solutions.
- Develop and implement automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to streamline system administration and provisioning tasks.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers and help plan, execute, and deliver infrastructure initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise supporting enterprise on-premises infrastructure, including Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, storage, virtualization, and networking technologies.
- Hands-on experience administering VMware virtualization technologies and Active Directory, including domain controllers and Group Policy.
- Strong knowledge of network configuration and management, including firewall administration with SonicWall and Palo Alto.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, or Pulumi.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity management, security, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery concepts.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of storage solutions including Isilon, Vblock, VxRail, Data Domain, and Avamar.
- Experience implementing IaC and DevOps practices in enterprise environments, including CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure initiatives.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
