Construction Supervisor - Onsite (GA or MS)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to lead quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) efforts on a cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Georgia or Mississippi. This is a 12-month contract opportunity where you will serve as the on-site owner's representative, ensuring that all mechanical and electrical construction meets rigorous safety, quality, and design standards. You will play a pivotal role in receiving materials, inspecting contractor work, and driving the project to successful completion.

Beyond daily site oversight, this position requires a strategic mindset for route development and refinement. You will leverage your deep understanding of value engineering, permitting constraints, and cross-functional coordination to optimize project outcomes. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for renewable energy infrastructure, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on-site QA/QC activities for a battery storage construction project, including safety oversight, material receiving, and detailed mechanical and electrical inspections.
  • Monitor and manage contractor performance to ensure strict adherence to contract documents, plant design criteria, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical and budget/financial support, proactively identifying and resolving field issues to maintain project schedule and cost targets.
  • Lead route development and refinement efforts by conducting field visits, verifying constructability, and applying value engineering principles to optimize the path to construction.
  • Develop and enforce routing criteria that balance cost, engineering feasibility, and environmental constraints, ensuring full compliance with highly regulated permitting requirements.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with subject matter experts across Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land teams to drive informed decision-making.
  • Perform routing and siting tradeoff analyses, identifying and evaluating risks to support late-stage permitting and pre-construction preparation.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
  • 11–15 years of progressive experience managing technical aspects of routing, siting, and construction projects, ideally within the power or energy sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Construction QA/QC, with specific experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or similar electrical infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to perform detailed mechanical and electrical inspections and enforce rigorous safety oversight on active construction sites.
  • Experience with route refinement using value engineering concepts and a functional understanding of routing criteria across cost, engineering, and environmental constraints.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of coordinating effectively across diverse internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the US approximately 25% of the time.

Preferred Skills

  • Background in power generation projects and environmental compliance processes.
  • Experience with project budgeting, financial tracking, and risk evaluation on large-scale construction initiatives.
  • Comfortable conducting independent field visits and making real-time routing and siting tradeoff decisions.
