Transmission Routing Analyst – Remote – 12-Month Contract
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Transmission Routing Analyst to support the development, optimization, and evaluation of linear project routes, including electric transmission lines, natural gas pipelines, water pipelines, and related energy infrastructure. This is a remote, 12-month contract opportunity offering a competitive pay rate.
As a technical specialist, you will develop defensible routing recommendations by integrating geospatial, environmental, engineering, land use, permitting, and stakeholder considerations. You will play a key role in early-stage project development, helping to shape the future of critical energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze environmental, land use, engineering, permitting, stakeholder, and constructability constraints to inform routing decisions.
- Develop routing alternatives using company routing tools and geospatial systems.
- Conduct desktop assessments and occasional field-based assessments to validate routing feasibility.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and project deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support project teams through early-stage development, ensuring alignment with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Integrate multidisciplinary data to produce defensible routing recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance technical, environmental, and community considerations.
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in utility routing and siting, transmission development, pipeline routing, GIS analysis, environmental permitting, land planning, engineering, or other linear infrastructure development.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with geospatial systems and data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience developing routing alternatives and conducting constraint analyses for linear projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting electric transmission, natural gas pipeline, water pipeline, renewable energy, or data center projects.
- Knowledge of electric transmission development, renewable energy generation projects, and data center development.
- Background in land planning or constructability assessment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, Planning, GIS, or a related field.
