About the Role
Our client's Engineering & Construction division is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to drive the technical execution of data center power projects. In this contract role, you will own the engineering lifecycle from initial due diligence through project completion, ensuring seamless coordination between internal stakeholders and external engineering resources. Reporting to the Engineering Lead of Data Center Project Engineering, you will provide technical leadership that directly impacts major infrastructure initiatives.
This position is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. You will resolve complex technical issues, manage engineering deliverables, and uphold standardized, high-quality project delivery. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting mission-critical facilities and advancing power delivery systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all technical aspects of data center and power delivery projects, from due diligence through successful completion.
- Coordinate and oversee external engineering resources, ensuring deliverables meet quality, budget, and timeline targets.
- Partner with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, acting as the primary engineering point of contact.
- Support internal stakeholders by translating business requirements into actionable engineering plans and progress updates.
- Drive standardized processes and best practices to achieve consistent, high-quality project outcomes.
- Make informed decisions and recommendations that significantly influence major engineering activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a closely related discipline).
- 8+ years of progressive experience in project engineering or engineering management.
- Demonstrated background supporting infrastructure, power delivery, or mission-critical projects.
- Proven ability to manage both internal and external engineering resources on complex initiatives.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within scope.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn in a dynamic business setting.
Preferred Skills
- Direct experience with data center projects or power delivery systems.
- Familiarity with mission-critical facility design and operations.
- Expertise in due diligence processes for infrastructure projects.
