AVEVA PI SME – Remote
About the Role
Our client is seeking a technical leader for their AVEVA PI System environment. In this fully remote, 6-month contract role, you will drive the development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of critical data infrastructure, including Process Book, PI tags, graphics, interfaces, and supporting hardware. You will apply advanced expertise to plan and execute complex projects that have significant business impact.
As the primary subject matter expert, you will act as a technical liaison, leading cross-functional initiatives and defining project scope. Your work will directly support major company programs involving data collection, visualization, system integration, and digital monitoring technologies, ensuring all solutions comply with corporate and industry standard
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of the AVEVA PI System environment to ensure high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), interfaces, and Process Book graphics.
- Plan, execute, and coordinate complex, high-impact projects, exercising independent judgment on technical solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison and subject matter expert, guiding cross-functional teams and defining project scope.
- Develop innovative solutions for data collection, visualization, and system integration that align with digital monitoring strategies.
- Mentor and provide strategic direction to technical personnel, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Ensure all PI-related systems and modifications comply with corporate, regulatory, and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of demonstrated, hands-on expertise with the AVEVA PI System suite.
- Deep knowledge of PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), Process Book, PI tags, and PI interfaces.
- Proven experience with data integrations and managing the supporting hardware infrastructure for PI systems.
- Strong track record of leading complex technical projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Preferred Skills
While not required, experience with digital monitoring technologies and advanced system integration in a large-scale enterprise environment is highly valued.
