About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join their Pricing & Analytics team in Juno Beach, Florida. This contract role is an excellent opportunity to build your career in project estimating while supporting a diverse portfolio of energy and infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals to prepare accurate cost estimates, develop pricing models, and evaluate innovative construction approaches.
The team's work spans a wide range of technologies including wind, utility-scale solar, energy storage, transmission and distribution lines, substations, water treatment, hydrogen, and more. This position is based in a corporate office environment with occasional travel to project sites, offering a fast-paced setting where you can grow your skills and make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates—conceptual, preliminary, and definitive—for new and existing projects.
- Perform conceptual engineering design and develop preliminary construction plans to support accurate scope quantification.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to analyze specifications, drawings, and documentation for precise estimating.
- Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project requirements.
- Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Present cost estimates and value engineering options to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Track project costs and variances throughout the lifecycle, updating estimates to reflect scope, design, or market changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior team members.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in project estimating.
Preferred Skills
- Internship or practical experience in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cost estimation software such as PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with project management software like MS Project or Primavera P6.
