Your advanced planning expertise and strong technical knowledge of nuclear systems will be essential in leading planning initiatives that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant work execution.

This is a 12-month contract role requiring on-site presence. You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced planners while coordinating across multiple disciplines to optimize work performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed work order task descriptions, including step-by-step instructions, material requirements, tool lists, and post-maintenance testing requirements.
  • Plan complex maintenance activities such as ASME Section XI work, ISI/IST programs, and modification packages, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and plant procedures.
  • Coordinate clearance requirements and equipment isolation strategies with Operations, and resolve technical issues during the planning phase to prevent field delays.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced planners, lead planning initiatives for outage and online work, and develop training content for planner development programs.
  • Interface with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Work Management, and Supply Chain to optimize work execution, and participate in pre-job briefs and post-job critiques.
  • Ensure all work packages meet Quality Assurance requirements, incorporate Operating Experience and lessons learned, and maintain configuration control with proper documentation of as-built conditions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, tools, and standards, and support the implementation of new planning technologies and systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent 10 years of plant experience in a technical field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of nuclear power plant experience, with at least 4 years in maintenance planning or an equivalent technical role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of nuclear plant systems, components, and operations.
  • Working knowledge of ASME codes (Section XI, Section IX), ISI/IST programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with work management systems such as NAMS/Passport, NextEra One, or Primavera P6.
  • Understanding of maintenance practices across multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, I&C).
  • Knowledge of configuration management, design control, and modification processes.
  • Strong technical writing, problem-solving, communication, leadership, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access authorization, including NERC CIP Unescorted Cyber access and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission access.
  • Capability to perform plant walkdowns, including climbing ladders, accessing confined spaces, and navigating industrial environments while wearing required personal protective equipment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience planning for refueling outages and major maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with multiple nuclear plant designs (PWR and/or BWR).
  • Knowledge of Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) controls and cleanliness requirements.
  • Experience with engineering calculations and technical evaluations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
