IT Business Systems Analyst – Level 3 (Senior) – Houston, TX (On-site)
Job Type: W2 Contract (Full-Time, 40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Length: 12 Months Contract.
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Business Systems Analyst to join a dynamic team operating at the intersection of technology, cybersecurity, and business operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on translating complex technical risks into meaningful business insights and enabling teams to make informed, secure decisions.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT infrastructure teams, and operational technology (OT) teams to enhance system reliability, security, and overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to business and technical teams on system and cybersecurity-related matters
- Translate cybersecurity risks (e.g., vulnerabilities, OT exposures) into clear business impact and actionable recommendations
- Support decision-making by outlining risks, trade-offs, and remediation strategies
- Conduct and support security reviews across IT, OT, and hybrid environments
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to understand real-world system usage
- Assist with secure onboarding and integration of new systems, vendors, and acquisitions
- Prioritize remediation efforts based on operational risk and business impact
- Track remediation activities, timelines, and commitments
- Identify recurring risks and systemic issues across environments
- Contribute to risk assessments, exception handling, and cybersecurity documentation
- Gather and document security requirements in a clear, user-friendly format
- Develop reports, dashboards, and executive-level summaries
- Standardize processes, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
- Energy, utilities, gas, or critical infrastructure environments
- IT infrastructure, networking, or systems administration
- Cybersecurity, risk management, or vulnerability management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working cross-functionally with both technical and business teams
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong reporting, documentation, and presentation skills
- Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
- Energy, utilities, gas, or critical infrastructure environments
- IT infrastructure, networking, or systems administration
- Cybersecurity, risk management, or vulnerability management
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., utilities, energy sector)
- Familiarity with hybrid IT/OT architectures
- Experience supporting cybersecurity frameworks and risk-based decision models
