About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Account Specialist to join their Development Communications team in Juno Beach, FL. This is a 12-month contract position supporting a growing portfolio of wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the country. In this role, you will help developers tell their story in communities nationwide, with the ultimate goal of permitting and building new renewable energy assets.
You will draw on the full range of communications services including messaging, media relations, research, advertising, events, and digital communications to shape stakeholder perception and drive project success. The position involves travel and requires a self-starter who combines strong writing skills with a commitment to excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of strategic communications plans, key messages, and integrated campaigns aligned with business objectives, using research and analytics to guide decisions.
- Create compelling visual and written content for internal and external channels, including newsletters, digital and social media, and video.
- Serve as a trusted communications advisor to internal business partners, providing executive communications support and acting as a liaison for assigned business units.
- Manage projects for cross-functional campaigns and initiatives, ensuring on-time delivery and consistent messaging.
- Draft media statements and press releases, respond to media inquiries, and serve as a company spokesperson, including occasional after-hours media duty.
- Proactively build relationships with media contacts and identify opportunities to amplify the company's story.
- Support planning and cross-functional execution of events, and measure results to evaluate communications effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Valid driver's license with no alcohol- or drug-related driving offenses within the previous five years, and a license that is not currently suspended or restricted.
- Willingness and ability to travel via airline and personal vehicle to support events and project needs.
- Proven project management and planning capabilities, with a track record of delivering results under minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
While not required, experience in the energy or renewable energy sector, familiarity with digital analytics tools, and a background in crisis or emergency communications support are highly valued.
