Purchasing Associate – Juno Beach, FL (On-site) – Cost Management & Procurement Support

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Associate to join their team in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This contract position, expected to last seven months, offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in cost management, internal controls, and administrative finance functions. You will play a vital support role, ensuring the smooth operation of procurement and accounting activities while collaborating with multiple departments.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative tasks that directly contribute to the division's financial integrity and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a process-improvement mindset and a foundational understanding of procurement and accounting principles. This is a standard 40-hour-per-week, on-site position with no travel required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create and manage purchase orders with a strong emphasis on commercial content and risk mitigation.
  2. Process work cycles and MR 11 transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
  3. Provide front-line support for the Jira service desk, resolving internal requests efficiently.
  4. Execute month-end closing activities and compile financial reports for budget, variance, and cost tracking.
  5. Proactively resolve vendor issues and handle urgent requests with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
  6. Maintain meticulous records, retrieve data, and ensure all transactions comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
  7. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, Business Management, IT, Accounts Payable, and the Integrated Supply Chain.

Required Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or GED is required.
  2. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
  3. A process-improvement mindset with the ability to identify and suggest efficiency gains.
  4. General understanding of procurement and accounting principles.
  5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with peers, customers, and stakeholders.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-departmental environment.

Preferred Skills

  1. 1-2 years of experience in procurement, accounts payable, or another administrative finance function.
  2. Hands-on experience with SAP is a strong plus.
