About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to drive technical direction and execution on critical business unit initiatives. This is a 12-month contract opportunity based on-site in Juno Beach, FL, where you will plan, coordinate, and deliver large-scale, complex projects within strict budgetary and scheduling parameters. You will serve as the primary technical authority, ensuring alignment across internal teams, external partners, and regulatory requirements.
In this leadership role, you will oversee contractor workloads, enforce safety protocols, and maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders. The position requires a hands-on leader who can navigate the intricacies of long-term project lifecycles while proactively identifying and implementing process improvements. You will also be expected to support storm restoration efforts, reflecting our client's commitment to service reliability and community resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide authoritative technical direction and oversight for large-scale or multiple concurrent medium/small complex projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Plan, coordinate, and drive project completion from initiation through closeout, managing resources and mitigating risks across all phases.
- Serve as the central point of contact for internal and external customers, delivering consistent updates on project progress, milestones, and changes.
- Oversee assigned contractor teams, managing workload distribution, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with site-specific protocols.
- Prepare, review, and process required agreements, permits, and documentation in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Continuously monitor project performance and operational workflows, recommending and implementing changes that enhance efficiency and quality.
- Be available for storm-related travel to assist with service restoration efforts within and beyond the company's service territory, demonstrating a commitment to operational resilience.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive project management experience, with a proven track record of leading complex, large-scale initiatives.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record: no alcohol- or drug-related driving offenses within the previous five years, and the license must not be currently suspended or restricted.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) access, as required for project execution.
- Willingness and ability to drive as an essential function of the role, including travel to project sites and storm restoration assignments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience interfacing across technical teams, contractors, and external customers.
Preferred Skills
While not required, experience in the energy or utilities sector and familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks are highly valued. Additional certifications such as PMP are a plus.
