Project Engineer – Data Center Power & Infrastructure
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their Engineering & Construction division and drive the technical execution of data center power projects. In this role, you will own the engineering scope from early due diligence through project completion, ensuring that every phase meets rigorous quality, schedule, and performance standards. You will report to the Engineering Lead for Data Center Project Engineering and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
This is a 12-month contract position based on-site in Juno Beach, FL, with some travel required. You will serve as a central technical authority, resolving complex issues and coordinating both internal subject matter experts and external engineering partners to deliver successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all technical aspects of data center power projects, from initial due diligence through final completion and handover.
- Provide technical leadership and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate internal engineering resources and subject matter expert support to resolve design and construction challenges.
- Oversee external engineering consultants and vendors, managing deliverables, quality, and contract compliance.
- Support internal stakeholders by translating project requirements into actionable engineering plans and progress updates.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, escalating risks and proposing mitigation strategies proactively.
- Champion standardized, high-quality, and timely project delivery in a dynamic business environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, civil, or a closely related discipline).
- 8+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience on infrastructure, power, or mission-critical projects.
- Demonstrated background in data center or power delivery projects.
- Proven ability to manage both internal and external engineering resources on complex projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills, with a track record of driving results.
- Self-starter mentality with a strong eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record: no alcohol- or drug-related driving offenses within the last five years, and no current suspension or restriction.
Preferred Skills
While not required, additional experience with large-scale data center campus developments, medium- or high-voltage power systems, or professional engineering licensure will be viewed favorably.
